Question Retouching Males

I don't know how I never found this amazing wealth of information before, I have so much to learn.

I'm currently working on a photo I shot that I want to look like a something off the cover of Men's Health. For me, this is a learning experience since all I know is basic skin smoothing and color correction.

I've uploaded the RAW file here:

Re: Retouching Males

If you're trying to mimic or emulate MEN'S HEALTH, you have to shoot like the current MEN'S HEALTH covers.

Have a look at the many covers I found on Google: http://www.google.com/search?pws=0&q...CumMiAKB9t3zAg.

Your attempt looks nothing like the cover. Men's Health is physique and body driven and so your subjects (most, unless they're celebrities) has to be ripped and superbly toned in muscular definition.

Unless there are more photographs from your session, as much as I want to extend my assistance, it is difficult to help.

Re: Retouching Males

I was mostly referring to the post processing done to the covers of Men's Health. Like how to treat mean's skin, etc.

I'll re-shoot soon with photos that are more like the cover photo's of Men's Health.

Re: Retouching Males

Keep the men's skin "less is more" approach. If your male model is ripped with muscular definition, use the olive oil sheen spray (used to preserve wigs) on the body: chest, abs, shoulders, and thighs.
