How can this be improved ? Here is picture that I took and retouched http://www.sonujoshi.net/Events/Gian...-Edit-4-XL.jpg Tell me how can this be improved, I like her pose and expression but feel something is missing in this image - little bit too yellow for me. I use LR3 as my primary retouching tool and still new to CS5. Any good resource on retouching (apart from practice) would be great. thanks -mj

Re: How can this be improved ? marsfoto, Welcome to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends. Poke around, have fun! If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described here: Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here) How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads: (Click here) If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread(As you did here), but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links). What a cutie! I like the pose too! I think the photo has lots of potential.. could you post a copy of the original also, so we can more effectively help you? Agree with the to much yellow, I also think the photo is way to dark.. you can't see the color of those pretty eyes... I feel the vignette should be much more graduated where the corners are dark then gradually blend toward the pretty face I will reserve any further comment till you post a copy of the Original

Re: How can this be improved ? Thank you for your comment will post the original once I reach home. Will it be okay if I leave image outside and link it so that way people who wants to play with it gets chance to work on bigger size. I'll take into consideration your comment on eyes and will try to lower the darkness around face, I used graduated filters around her but looks like I pulled it in too much. Picture was shot with Sigma 30mm @ F1.4, thank you once again for your help.

Re: How can this be improved ? Of course you can link to a larger size... the problem with links is they die... photos get moved, deleted, the site they are on have limited days they are viewable, permissions changed, etc... etc... that is the reason RetouchPRO would appreciate having an image posted within the thread so people will still be able to view the photos/problems/solutions even after the links expire

Re: How can this be improved ? hello, Giana has a nice look. That's why I created this composition to bring out the look by reducing the image by cutting as close to the face. I used Portraiture to soften the skin. A little sharpening applied by mask over the eyes and mouth (which I softened by using the dodge tool) and finally adjusting the levels (I often use the level adjustment at the end to play on all the layers). To complete this picture, I reduced the shadows on the left side of the face.

Re: How can this be improved ? Left colour balance alone as it has the look of tungsten light but could be changed using curves. Crop but left background to suggest her having her hair done Tone down distracting light parts in background Attempted to lighten eyes as they should be the focus - problem at this size too pixelated but should be better on your original.

Hi, I´ve changed a bit the light, the colors and finally desaturated the image leaving weak reds. Hope you will like it
