I'm aware of a few methods: Filters> noise reduction Filters> median Camera raw> Luminance The camera raw method works the best. But I'm looking for some more advanced techniques. Can you guys and girls share some methods for noise reduction the you have had good results with? Thanks!

Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method The filter in Camera Raw will be best as you say. The built-in filters in Photoshop doesn't do a very good job (although combining some, using masks, and with some manual work you can make it a bit better). You can however get 3rd party plugins that are very good at noise reduction. I have not tried them so I cannot compare them, but I hear that Noise Ninja at least should be good.

Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method Topaz DeNoise is another 3rd party plug-in that works pretty good in my limited evaluation. --shift studio.

Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method Hi Pacificpowered Photoshop CS5 and LR3 both took a big step forward in Noise Reduction from their previous versions. It now suffices in many cases for me without a plugin. Upgrades to CS5 are at an all time low cost with Adobe trying to get everyone to upgrade (their new policy as now stated will only allow upgrade discounts to CS6 if you are on CS5 - and those discounts go away by the en). When I want noise reduction, going to LR3 or ACR on CS5 is now my first stop. Hope that is helpful.

| Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method The noise reduction algorithms in PS are fixed and relatively unintelligent. I purchased and evaluated many products including Neat Image, Noise Ninja, and Topaz DeNoise. The best of everything out there, IMO as well as others, is Noiseware Professional from Imagenomic. | Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method Last time I played around here (for a Webinar here), Lightroom 3 gave Noiseware a run for its money (it was better). If you have LR 3 or ACR 6, if you know what you're doing, you may need nothing more and save some money, time and work non destructively. |

Re: The Best Noise Reduction Method Glad to help, the DenoiseMyImage result is excellent! Their other stuff is also very interesting and not expensive.
