Super High Key Tutorial and Automotive Retouching

Hey guys! Long time lurker here, I'm a photographer that specializes in shooting cars and I retouch all of my own work and I just finished up a tutorial I thought you guys would like as there is little in the way of either high key or automotive retouching on here.

It's a walk-through image build of two shots by from a series shot by Dino Dalle Carbonare that I retouched for Super Street Magazine, I think most of you should find it pretty interesting.

Cheers for that, that's very interesting. I'd like to be able to see some of the masks that you used though.

To be honest most of the masks, aside from the one for the group containing the car, are very quick and dirty. Most of them simply used a gradient to fade in/out the adjustment layer. This is one of my sloppier edits but the concept is effective. If this were something for advertising I would have done a much cleaner and precise job (not to mention have much better source images to work from).

Love your work. Specially the Nissasn Skyline gt-r 1970. Also the new Scion looks amazing. I was looking into car retouching aswell but theres just not enough samples to practice on. The tutorials are great aswell.

It's nice to see a retouching resource that's not geared around fashion and beauty images.

I'd love to see the PSD of the front cover you did of the erm.. blue car... errr from Japan?

Thanks guys I'm glad you got something from it. I'd like to go a little more in-depth at times but for starters it's too time consuming and secondly if I give away alll the secrets then that's no fun :P

I know it was a bit vague and as much as I hate to admit it I don't want to give away everything as most of my closest competitors read my site lol.
