Disappointed in Topaz Adjust

Anyone else think that it adds too much grain/noise to the photos?

Maybe if you are using the presets as they are, but then you need to play with the settings, and tweak the images to your like... It works well for me...

Re: Disappointed in Topaz Adjust

Just seems odd that 90% of the presets add noise and that you'd have to "tweak" them to remove noise...Why not make the presets have little to no noise and make the user tweak if they want noise???

Re: Disappointed in Topaz Adjust

Noise is a natural byproduct of images hyper-enhanced in this manner.

Tip: Run your image through Topaz DeNoise (or equivalent) first, then run Adjust. Also, Adjust 5 has noise reduction built in (under Global Adjustment>Noise).

Re: Disappointed in Topaz Adjust

again, I have to ask why the noise reduction wouldn't be included in the presets by default if it's as simple as using a slider?

Re: Disappointed in Topaz Adjust

Good question, though that would assume people want only smooth results when they might actually want grunge (?). Having the noise option separate allows for more flexibility. Same with allowing separate adjustment of exposure, details, color, etc.

In the end, anyone can achieve any result they wish with the slider options as offered.
