How to create a tanning look ?

Hi there, i have been searching this site for this but i can't seem to find it.

Im looking for an tutorial or an explanation on how to create a nice sun tanning look ? also would like to know how to make a person a little bit paler

Im using Photoshop cs5

Remember you need to switch to 8bit if you're working on 16. Otherwise duotone mode option stays grayed out.
