| Re: can somebody break this down Nik Silver Efex Pro, reduced opacity to achieve bleach bypass-like look (low saturation, high/shadows bump). Also a few channel mixer adj layers to shape the tones of face. |

| Re: can somebody break this down Sorry Leviathan what you ask could not be broken down into exact descriptions. If you are experienced you may pick up on 90% of what is going on but only by the tools he is using. The exact way he uses them is not easy to replicate because that is his own style. I suggest practicing with the tools you can recognise and then delving deeper into the look of the image by adding your own style. Not copying somebody elses because you will never learn that way. His techniques are basically, open in ACR and adjust clarity and brightness. Retouching the eyes by painting in white highlights and adding brightness and detail using screen layer modes. Tidying up hes using the patch tool to fix areas which look out of place and removing stray hairs and blotches. With the skin hes using the differen't image channels to boost highlights. Hes then dodging and burning using a 50% gray layer. The background adding is pretty self explanatory. For the colour, as insmac says he uses Silver Efex Pro to create a B&W layer with a blending mode and then adds channel mixer adjustment layers to alter the image further. For sharpening he uses a high pass layer and paints certain areas in. He also sharpens using USM. Vignette is also self explanatory. Hope that helps. |
