Amazing post production technique

http://scarabuss.deviantart.com/
Hi all, I would love to know how *scarabuss
Metin Demiralay does his post production, He is a very talented photographer and has a great eye for the final energy in the pic.
I have tried many things but can't seem to nail it.
Linear dodge (add) layer helps a little as well as overlays, however still not close. I love his B&W but i am referring to his colour pics.

Thanks.

Re: Amazing post production technique

they're very warm, aren't they?

Have you tried choosing the red channel as a selection mask on
a curve...where you pull just the blue channel linedown a little bit in the middle

and/or

putting a gradient map of the 'Brown, Tan, Beige' gradient over the top ... try 'multiply' blending mode on this layer (depending on the image, 'soft light' might work better)

play with the opacity and blending modes of these two adjustments layers and see if it doesn't get you close

Re: Amazing post production technique

Hi, Yes they are very warm, and I know that that isn't at all fashionable at the moment but I love his use of the warmth, the over saturation and his use of all the colours to create a drama in his pics.
I will try the gradient map over the top.
I have tried layers set to mulitply, thinking that has to be the finishing layer.
and still think that.
I will give the gradient map ago and let you know.
Thank you

not sure which one you like...this guy must have some good lens for the bokeh...then he is good with light and good with composition...and then probably a touch of photoshop.

Re: Amazing post production technique

Hi , I think he is really good with using light, most of his stuff is lit from behind or from the side and not always lovely soft light, quite often its hard and would normally be unattractive or unflattering to the subject, however with the dramatic use of his post production technique they look very interesting and seem to amplify the emotion in the pics.

I think that Nasturtium hit on it with the use of the red channel curve and gradient map with soft light mode and probably with a blur added to the soft light mode because if you look at his pics they appear sharp because of the contrast.

I had a play around with it last night but cant seem to get the right gradient map and now I am thinking there are a couple of them.
I also need to find a pic with similar lighting.
