How to get this effect of blacks?

hello,
i'm new here. think you can help me.

what about these blacks? cant find topic about it.
is it only curves or some more magic?

hard to explane, it looks like all black shadows is on same level, so there's no details on them. lighten or something.. tried to play whith exposure, offset, gamma corretion, but it's not like this:

The black level is just lighter than pure black, that's really all you're seeing.

Open the Levels windows and increase the Input level from 0 to about 10 or 20.

Bear in mind that the images you posted all have a very specific narrow colourisation and underexposure, which is nothing to do with the black level - so the starting point is very much of importance.

Not exactly sure what you want either. You want dark gray clipped shadows? Is that it?
Have you tried playing around with the black point on a Curves adjustment layer?

Have a look at this example:

i would say they look like that because there scanned from a magazine.
should be possible to replicate in PS but why?

Here is a curves method:
- Move black point up (see 3rd curve in Chain's post)
- Pick a point between the black point and mid point and pull it down (don't pull lower than the black point)
- If you want to mid tones not impacted move the mid point back to the center
