Joel Grimes all white look - how does he do it?

Hi

I love Joel Grimes all white look. Any ideas on how to achieve something similar like his photos below:

White brush and paint. No matter what do you do to desaturate the image, you will need to trace the original highlights in order to contour the face.

You're partially right there. If you establish the high key nature to the lighting, you can just then tune the color to fit.

This shouldn't even be a question. What you suggested is the same thing as saturation -100 set to color mode. If you assign anything blank fill color with 0 saturation in color mode, you get a greyscale image. This should not be a surprise.

Desaturate and then on a new layer at normal or overlay or lighten or luminocity paint white to enhance the contours.
