Newbie Glitz Pageant Style Photos?

I've retouched a picture of Eden Wood naturally and am happy with some of what I've done. But I'm stuck on how to make it look properly doll like. I want to make my pictures look full glitz. I know how to sharpen the eyes and smooth the skin, but I just want to know how to ass the final touches to make it hhiigghh glitz style!

Re: Glitz Pageant Style Photos?

i think her face is just too blurry than smooth..

and i think they liquify / bloat their eyes to increase its size to make it more doll like.

Re: Glitz Pageant Style Photos?

The edges of the face and nose are fuzzy. Select areas you want to smooth hold back from the edges or transition area. Copy the area to a new layer. Deselect the area then Blur the new layer. This will smooth the skin and the transition to the edges will appear more feathered. If there are areas that still are fuzzy then delete the new layer and try again. If there are aras that need more then copy the smaller area on new layers and adjust the amount of blur. Change layer from normal to lighten or darken to get rid of blemishes, wrinkles or glare. The lips and hands should have the same treatment on separate layers so that the image is cohesive.
Adjust the opacity of each layer as needed to obtain the look you want. Add highlight by painting a layer with a light yellow, pink, or white. Then blur and change layer to screen and adjust opacity. Use multiply to add color or shadows.

Mitchy-, Welcome to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends. Poke around, ask questions, offer help, have fun!

Have you read this post "'GLITZ' and Retouching - My thoughts" ?

Just some additional ideas you might try... Contour, makeup, cappers for the teeth (clone in gaps), highlights for lipstick...

Give the same attention to the other details that you gave to the eyes and you will be in good shape...

A very, very Quickie GIF sample of the suggestions (give it a couple seconds to change after clicking on it)

Thanks so much to both of you! I've used the first idea and it improved the look of the nose and edges of the face a lot. And I'm going through the tutorials from your post, 0lBaldy.
