newbie to retouching

Hi All

I'm new to re-touching and i'm trying to figure out how this look is done. I have Aperture and CS4 and nothing i've done so far has come close. Is there something special to this type of skin smoothing??

Please help!

Re: newbie to retouching

The special thing about that skin smoothing is that it's absolutely terrible.

Put this out of your mind straight away. All they've done is blurred the skin. That's not retouching, it's blurring.

If you're still intent on creating this 'look', then just use the lasso tool to select the areas of skin you want to blur, then run the gaussian blur filter at whatever huge radius you want. Voila, job done.

Again though, blurring is not retouching.

Thank you and i understand what you mean. You also just cost me $20 buck because i didn't believe my brother who said it was blurring lol. Thanks for the link. I really would just like to see how they get that look, but i believe in the natural look with bit of touch up.
