Re: lightleaks

Learned this from a german photographer...
I got an image from a building with dark windows and light stones/concrete but you can also make them in PS, put it over my masterimage in screenmodus and transformed it to where I wanted the lightstreaks. Converted it to a smartfilter, then blurred it with gaussian blur 150 pixel depending the image. Adjust with hue/saturation and curves, put these in a group, put a mask on the group and maskaway where you don't want the effect.

Or... if you need soemthing simpler and more uniform, just add a gradient on the mask of the group and/or each layer to achieve fading effect.

Re: lightleaks

Hahhah, um, radial?

You can also use a soft brsuh at high size low opacity and flow and just paint it back-and forth a few times, just like on the good old paper.

- on a new blank layer, line the shape of the streak with the polygonal lasso tool;
- with the marching ants visible, enter quick mask mode (Ctrl - Q) to fill the outline;
- use gaussian blur to soften the edges (i.e. 12 pixels) then exit quick mask mode;
- fill the selection with whatever colour you like and, because it's on a separate layer, you can control the blend mode, opacity, transform the shape, apply filters, mask, etc.
