Re: Shadow removing task anyone?

I would say: a lot of curves, D&B + color.

Re: Shadow removing task anyone?

I'm pretty impressed chillin.
Especially because of the very natural skin flaws you've worked out... a perfect example for what's possible with Photoshop and a good point why retouching is a good thing.

You should do a tutorial about that, shadow removal is one of these things that many
people ask for...

Re: Shadow removing task anyone?

Another way is, select the facial shadowed area in quick mask mode, feather the selection and save it as an alpha channel; set a colour sampler in the area of the skin that looks right (her cheek on the right side of her mouth) and do the same in the shadowed area directly across. In the info palette, you will see the two different RGB values. Activate the alpha channel by Ctrl-clicking on it, select a curves adjustment layer and bring the values of the shadowed area up to match the first sample. Because the selection was active, these adjustment will only effect the selected (shadowed) area. This should get you close and now you can blend using the clone and healing brush tools, add colour by painting on a new layer in colour mode, etc. I also used this approach on her left shoulder. D & B, curves or Shadows/Highlights adjustments will help you with her hair.

Cheers.
