Beauty Pageant retouches- glitz makeover help?

Hi so I'm a pageant mom and my daughter is entry a high glitz national pageant. SHe's 12, and we need new photos. We've taken new photos with out photographer, and to save money, I downloaded GIMP to edit my photos myself.
I figuredout how to make the skin all smooth, but I need help with the eyes, hair, lips, and teeth. She has braces, I would like to hide them.

You answered your own question by stating that you want your daughter "perfect and doll-looking". Is any child, or for that matter anyone, perfect? Love the child as she is. If you want to retouch photos, that is great. Kids love having their zits removed, etc. But even a child knows that perfection is impossible no matter how much they try to perform for others.

If on the other hand, you were like the rest of us who sometimes do not communicate clearly, there are several threads here at RTP that address retouching of children for pageants and much on beauty retouches. All you have to do is a search. Also, there are youtube rentals available through RTP that will more than address the issue of "perfect" skin.

Considering that she linked to photos where half the information about the subject was essentially removed through bad post work, I think you're just responding to an unintelligent person with bad taste. There's nothing that looks perfect about the linked photos. They look either like they took an eraser to it, or like they're viewing the blocking in stage of a tacky painting. They just don't provide a lot of information when done like this, but again I think the OP lacks the comprehension.

Wow, it seems some on this forum are shockingly opinionated, but not very helpful...

By telling the OP what ought not to be, They have provided a prime example of inappropriate derisions that I feel should not be presented on a helpful Forum like RetouchPRO.

Even if the OP is a troll... although it may not be as self-serving as the snide remarks.... perhaps offering help (like ('GLITZ' and Retouching - My thoughts)) would be more productive to future viewers or seekers of helpful information..

Also helpful, might be directing the OP or others to the SEARCH button above each thread... Entering the terms glitz or pageant in the search box would reveal lots of other helpful threads along with a sundry of similar remarks... the searcher just needs to separate the chaff from the wheat...

If this is an important pageant, you're better off hiring a retoucher until you learn glitz retouching. You're not likely to find a whole tutorial for the glitz look so you'll have to look for different tutorials. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
