Fix Color Image with Channels Or how could you exaggerate the garbage in the blue channel and use the green channel (best channel) to fix just those garbage areas.

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels Yes I agree, without a sample it is difficult to understand.

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels I think you will find that editing the channels directly does not work. Doing so will introduce all kinds of wierd colors. So trying to "fix" the blue channel by cloning on it or copying portions from another channel is not productive. The better way and more common way to fix "marks" in the image while preserving colors is with a technique called "frequency separation." Google that phrase for tons of examples and tutorials. Better yet, go to Youtube and search with that phrase. There are many examples there.

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels Here is my work so far... curve adjustment first, followed by some spotting with healing brush and spot healing brush. I tried the hue/sat and the selective color technique to reduce the yellow, but no luck.. I found out that it is actually more red than yellow, but at the same time the photo has the typical honeycomb texture applied. Couldn't see that at first until I zoomed in. WIll follow advice on frequency... but maybe I am too much into this yellow type spots.. they are the leg, shirt, hair, and obvious face.. thank you

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels First of all there is low contrast in the image so drag in the black and white points using levels adjustment. Then use the middle eyedropper of a curves adjustment layer and click on the white of the eye and that will get you very close to the correct colours. Use of the healing bush or spot healing will clean up the skin very quickly

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels Your right... I tried the spatial frequency technique, increased contrast, and added some vibrance with a surface blur (for the honeycomb background).. here is the final photo. The spatial frequency absolutely amazes me, because it took care of stains..now I have to learn more about this to understand how it actually worked.. cool..

Re: Fix Color Image with Channels You could try fixing the spots and color in Lab-mode. Example (not spot on but to give an impression):

Here my result (colours depend a lot on individual Monitor Calibration) I used mainly Frequency Separation (here a short Tutorial on it) Here a Tutorial on removing honeycomb texture. The link for the FFT Filter used in the Tutorial doesn't work anymore here is the new one. |
