BTW, I never understood why to use LAB for things like increasing contrast or sharpening. You just can do these things with luminosity blending mode and have the same results or not?

No absolutely not.
LAB is a bigger color space which allows you to increase contrast via, vibrancy, clarity and saturation without affecting luminosity

in LAB your luminosity is in a separate channel so you can sharpen luminosity without affecting hue...

You can also just set it to luminosity blending when doing the sharpening. I don't really agree with LAB being a necessity to get such colors. You're most likely viewing them in sRGB right now. I guess going to a larger space would cause them to spread further when adjustments are made, but it's not truly necessary. Photographers have achieved things like this since film. Polarizers and graduated ND filters were great for skies if they went too bright. Multiple exposures work too. Some of these have very defined masking and a lot of painted adjustments. I don't see anything that goes well beyond the basics of wait for lighting, then in post accentuate blue in sky and red-orange color in desert terrain. Usually if you're trying to get past the broad details, you need to go through it yourself with one under similar lighting. Make the obvious adjustments and compare to see what was most likely performed on them, as it can be a ton of little tiny adjustments aside from the one or two major ones.
