getting this warm color effect?

Any ideas on what would go into this retouching?

would that warm glow be through gradiant mapping?

I might be wrong, but I get the impression that part of the process involves a duplicate layer converted to black and white, worked on, and then blended back with the colour layer to give a slightly colourised look. But I'm sure the only people who will be able to tell us how it was done are the guys who did it.
