Need help to get this skin color please

I am looking for a tutorial on Skin color, something that explains it very well.

What I am interested in is the skin color I have attached (yellowish skin with model having blond hair) or the porcelain look. Most of my digital images come out a bit red. Simply using De-Sat. turns them into a greyish skin tone. Can someone please help me with this?
The image that I have attached with the yellowish skin tone is not mine, but that is what I am looking for. The second image with the flower is mine and you can see there is a red tone to the skin.
What I have done to this image is in Sat., I increased the luminosity of Yellow channel to around 45 to get rid of some of the redness. I did then bring back some of the areas around the cheeks and eye shadow. But this is not really doing the trick.

Thank You much
-Hadi

I played with the Color Balance and manipulated the Highlight and Medium color bands. Added yellow and removed some of the magenta from both bands. I only played with the skin color and it looks pretty good but I only did it for a few minuted and I am sure their are others with better techniques. But hope this helps you out.

Re: Need help to get this skin color please

Looks to me like the first image was shot with late afternoon window light. You could always try reshooting (assuming you're a photographer and not a retoucher) with tungsten light or daylight balanced lights with an 81EF filter. This could even become your signature look.

Years ago I had a signature look for my beauty work which consisted of two strobe heads plus two tungsten heads. The tungstens added just enough warmth and allowed a little movement in the hair (I had a powerful fan) while the strobes froze the subject/hair.

Just a thought. I always try to get as close as possible in camera to reduce the amount of retouching I have to do. I'd rather be out shooting than sitting at the computer.

Sorry took me so long to answer.
Using the color balancer I changed:
Highlights Magenta/Green slider +11
Yellow/Blue slider +12

Midtones Magenta/Green slider +5
Yellow/Blue slider -10
Checked box Preserve Luminosity

Re: Need help to get this skin color please

The tutorial recommended by Igoose is typical of the sort of stuff you can pick up from the internet, and a good example of the principal, "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing"

Having hardly got going, the would-be guru comes out with the following statement (with reference to RGB), 'Each of these colors has a corresponding color on the color wheel; therefore red corresponds to green, green corresponds to magenta annd blue corresponds to yellow. Learn it, remember it!"
This is about as useful as starting a beginners class in arithmetic by stating that 1+1=2, 2+2=4 and 4+4=9

The correct complementary pairs are

RED - CYAN

I hit the return button.......

The correct complementary pairs are

RED - CYAN GREEN - MAGENTA BLUE - YELLOW

Learn it. Remember it!

Re: Need help to get this skin color please

Sorry to upset you but those are the colors labeled on the sliders. So I put that down as references to the program. Which he asked for. (See above)
If you want to yell at someone go to Adobe and vent there.
Thank You

Redraw, you were perfectly correct. It was the tutorial that Igoose referred to that I was talking about.
