Looking for quick techniques!

Most of my work has been for print but I've been retouching more and more for online e-commerce sites. Mostly clothes, accessories, jewelry, shoes... etc. The daily work load can be intense and time is limited.

I'm looking for new techniques that are quick and effective that will let me bang out more images daily.

Basically, the web images need clean backgrounds and product (dirt, dust, scratches, imperfections), any pins and strings removed, reshaping the product, cutout onto a white background with either the original shadow or reflection.

Not rocket science but it can be time consuming.

I would love to hear about anyones techniques that save them time. Much appreciated.

Thanks! David

Have you automated stuff that you can automate? Batch processing for white balance and saving, making droplets and the like.

Re: Looking for quick techniques!

Hi Mike...

Yes I use previously created actions and have made a few new one to deal with repetitive processes specific to this client. File setup, retouching layers, D&B layers, color correction layers...

I was just curious as to what other retouchers have been using that I might not have thought of. I started playing around with dust & scratches (which I would never use for print) for clean up but I'm not sure if I love the results yet.

Thanks!

If you have something like camera sensor dust on the same place in all the images you can set Adobe RAW to do a whole folder, but I'm not sure that I really know any short-cuts that you don't already use.
