Question How to get that clean, vibrant and polished look?

Hi guys,

I am a big fan of Kristen Weaver photography. I've been experimenting a lot in order to get a similar look, but I can't achieve the results I want. At times I think I'm almost there, save my workflow and when I apply it to photos from a new photoshoot, it doesn't work and makes it look horrible. What I like about Kristen Weaver photos is that her work has the same look throughout. I get different results from almost each photo of the same photo shoot as it was shot from a different angle, had a different background, distance, lighting, depth of field, number of people, clothing, skin colours etc.

Here is a link to one of her sessions: http://www.kristenweaverblog.com/jun...class-of-2011/

Thanks

Good pics to start with and then levels, masking + Alien Skin Bokeh for the background DOF lens blur effect.

Thanks a lot Never heard of Alien Skin Bokeh, just had a look and it looks very impressive. Will have to try it.

Then maybe you know how to get the skin like that?

It looks like plain shallow DOF bokeh.

I looked at her pictures again today. What a great photographer!
I know that you are asking about retouching of these pictures, but without good picture this retouching would be nothing.

Re: How to get that clean, vibrant and polished lo

I just checked out the EXIF Data of three of her pics - they´re all shot with a D700 and the fantastic 85|1.4. Slow AF, but perfect for portraits. The three pictures were shot with f1.4, f1.6 and f1.6.

So - no need for some Bokeh Software
