Editing Red Epic still files in Photoshop CS6

Any RP friends out there who have experience in editing still files from a Red Epic camera?

I have some test .r3d files from a client and while I can open them in Photoshop CS6, I cannot open them in ACR. The .r3d files are untagged and when opened in CS6 the become 8 bit sRGB.

Does someone have experience in editing these still files and would be willing to correspond or point me in the right direction? PM me or leave thoughts here on RP.

Would it be better to get tiff files from the camera or the .r3d files?

How can I open files in ACR

Any other experiences welcome,

thanks,

Ken
