Question Is this split tone?

Hi,

Sorry I am pretty new to editing and fascinated about colors. I joined this forum because I know there many many retoucher experts on here

I just saw this set of images and I am wondering how that is acheived? Could it be split tone?

http://www.bloginvoga.com/2013/08/19...son-editorial/

The images also seem to have a hazy layer (or is this just the result of a scanning off the originally prints?)

Many thanks in advance.

Warm regards,
David

Re: Is this split tone?

Blacks are blue so yes. You check this by looking at your info palette and checking the hue of the highlights mid tones and shadows, and if one of those has much more of certain color, or if it has a different hue if you're looking at a HSB info.

What it is is introducing a color based on luminosity.

And the haze is the result of shooting directly into light sources. Desaturates the colour and light bounces around between the lens elements. The better quality the lens, the less the effect.
