Old job? That doesn't seem like something that would be handled at your current shop. I was trying to figure out if he meant a separate pass. It sounded like he meant a totally different render setup rather than a separate pass of the same, which made little sense to me given the ability to add lights for the wheels that won't contribute to the body. I don't think splitting things up too far is great in photoshop given the lack of paint tools in 32 bit and 16 bpc being integer only.

and I must admit that this guy is really great teacher - if you watch the introduction video you can notice how fast he talks - and he keeps to talk like this through whole dvd (6+ hours).

Ah I thought you guys only did still layouts. I was apparently incorrect.

We do only do still layouts. What I do on my own is different.
