Remove Hose from picture

I have a picture at http://www.newmanlakka.net/g-panel.jpg that has a hose in front of my doctor friend. She wants the hose removed from her picture. I have no idea how to do it because it is in front of hair.

This is way over my head.

Is this even possible?

Thanks for your opinion

Not that difficult. Select like piece of hair, cut out and mask. You can also clone. I just did one section quickly. The site only lets you upload images under 100k, so had to crop.

Good luck.

Re: Remove Hose from picture

Benny I was asking to be taught but, if I need some work done I now know who to ask.

Nanis thanks for the pointer. The light bulb went on when you said cut then mask. I think I might be able to do that. I am not an expert (or even a novice) because I have never tried to alter a photo before.

But I am excited to try. My Doctor friend runs a non-profit cancer research foundation and does non-profit work with children all over the world. That is why I am trying to help her out.

Thanks for the start I will let you know how I am doing.

ONLY because 'tis for Cancer Research and I will volunteer to do what little I can to help Dr. Giannoula Lakka Klement with her research @ The Newman-Lakka Institute for Personalized Cancer Care...

OR if you want to do it yourself it could be done by taking the hair from the OTHER picture where the hose is not in the hair and copying and paste

This would be the way I approach it.

Basically, its cloning, then masking. Then cloning some more. Just remember, that in order to achieve professional results, you need to put in as much effort as the professional would. So take your time.

Re: Remove Hose from picture

Wow all of you have been great. Thanks for the help. I am now practicing on all of the suggested techniques. It is harder than it looks but I am determend to learn.

After looking at what you did OlBaldy, I can see this is more of an art form, and all you retouchers are actual artists. I am humbled at your talent.

I am going to attempt this the best I can. The only way to learn is to try. But don't be surprised if I come back yelling for help from you real retouchers.

And OlBaldy your image gives me a target to shoot for.

Thanks

Re: Remove Hose from picture

I don't quite understand how is it easier to do it yourself then to pay someone 20$ to do it for you, but at least you may learn a new skill while working on the image.
