Who owns the equipment? Could be the photographer, could be a rental company. Could be a bit of both. Does it matter?
Yes IT DOES MATTER

Well if you don't understand why it does matter, you are worthless.

Apparently you’re not here to get silly questions answered but rather to present yourself as a spoiled little child.

WTF do you think pays? We’ve provided an obvious and correct answer to a rather stupid question.

OK, the client doesn’t pay, the US government pays.
It’s all done for free.
Photographers do it for the mere joy of taking pictures.

Pick any of these silly answers if it makes you happy and gets you to move on.

You should stick with color management seminars. "Talented Retouchers" don't work in house for photographers. Go back to LL and mystify the hobbyists with your alchemy. This is a retouchers forum.

Hogwash! You’d be lucky to have half the talent of Robb Carr, Greg Gorman’s retoucher for about 25 years! But you’re kind of a fool to lump all retouchers into one camp but par for the course.

**All generalizations are dangerous, even this one.

She certainly doesn't waste any money maintaining an expensive studio space in Manhattan.

Unfortunately for retouchers, some of these digital service companies also market themselves as retouching experts. And the we have to fix that crap once the file is flattened.
That is one of the reasons why her work is absolute garbage.

Don't feed the troll.

For the second time (after the 'photographers scam' thread) you all elaborate your thoughts for someone who insults people and does not express a slightest form of gratitude to whomever had put his effort to answer his questions.

That's not how this forum works and it has nothing to do with having contradicting opinions either.

The trolls feed each other, that’s where this thread has gravitated to.

The question asked was silly, followed by an editorial statement lumping all photography into yet another silly generalization:

It's interesting to note that the greatest pictures in the world were taken with just a camera and two people, subject and photographer.

When the silly question was answered, the OP got snotty:
“Are you done with your useless answers“?? “Well if you don't understand why it does matter, you are worthless“.

Then we got an equally silly generalization: “Photography is no longer a dude in a studio with some equipment and a small staff“. “Talented Retouchers" don't work in house for photographers.“ followed by equally snooty replies.

Probably best for the host to lock the thread down, no good can come from it. It’s filled with generalizations, insults and is just a vortex of nonsense from as you point out, trolls.
