may i know if kuyper luminocity masks are 16bit?

Have a look at this video where the author pick a L2 mask and refine it adjusting the b&w layer and the curve. I want to be able to do that without the use of Lumenzia.

I found out; when the temporary folder is created I load the RGB channel and save it as a new (custom) mask.

I think the new approach described here Infinity Masks and Zone-Picker makes the old way of creating luminosity masks obsolete.

No, I don't. Also, I don't feel the need to use that tool as I can create infinite variety of light and dark "simulated" luminosity masks that can be adjusted in real time thru a level adjustment layer. By moving the midtone slider I can adjust how restrict the mask is and sliding it to the right the I will progress from "light+1" all the way to "light+5" in infinite increments.

Have a try with a B&W adjustment layer and a level adjustment layer.
