The shadows and lips are very saturated. I think it looks ugly. I'm not sure how they got so much wrong with the face. I can still see the outline of the masking on the other parts, but it would be easier to ignore if the face didn't look so strange.

Color=almost there. Shape=needs more work. Especially on the face. She looks like someone took an eraser and smudged her all over the place.

If the face were shaped better, this would be a great image, but that is just not human.

i know how to get the blue background but how can i achieve that golden skintone ? any idea would be appreciate. i just love this retro gold skintone.
what i try with curves to get gold skintone is red curve midtone up. blue curve midtone down to get gold look.

First think more human, less Klingon, sorta like this but in more detail(yeah nose sucks, but it get's pixelated)111clingon.jpg

There is no single curve that will help. It's pure DNB, and as far as the color you go area by area. So, one setting for the sky(I would advise a separate, darker RAW conversion then the rest of the file), another one for the lips, skin, bathing suit etc... All color needs to be adjusted independently/

There is a LOT of dnb involved, especially if you want to make it look good all over(and not forget about the face like they did).

You get it the same way I've suggested every time. You mask out the skin and adjust it independently of other elements. That's how I would approach any complicated skintone. If skin appears flat in the context of the overall image, it's usually that the background is too close in brightness or parts of it are just too uneven.

Oh as far as layers go, channel mixer and color balance can be helpful. Some people use curves instead. Selective color is good for fine tuning. I'm not necessarily recommending curves because if you choose bad points, it will look terrible. You generally need to pick a different tool to avoid introducing undesirable side effects if the final line in your curves adjustment palette looks too "curved".

I think they darkened the cheeks intentionally, which is just silly. It made her head look too oblong. I think this one is perfectly doable without multiple raw conversions. Sometimes they just make things too complicated.
