| Patching scratches I've been using the quickmask selection method to paint over a scratch, come out of quickmask mode and use the patch tool in source mode to move the selection away from the scratch. By brushing over the scratch you can get much smaller selections and patch from quite close to the original area. If there is a light scratch on a dark area it also helps to overpaint the scratch with an appropriate colour before patching. Not as fast as selecting a large patch but gives good results.
