Re: Show Your Stuff! Went for a ride through the park today. I could barely make out the sun's shape as there was a high thick layer of white clouds. Combined with the snow cover, colors were very muted. I shot this with a canon rebel xt using aperture priority at f8.

I really like this -- enough detail in the forest shows up, there is color in the mountains, the clouds show some detail, and the scrub in the foreground shows off thru the snowfall. Very beautiful! I'm so glad you showed this image because I hate getting cold and this way I get to see some of the beauty with none of the cold! |

Re: Show Your Stuff! I like the effect you got with that, cimager. Is that action under "image effects"?, or did you create it yourself? I do believe my grandfather may have had one of those paintings hanging in the dining room. Here's a photo I took while walking around Brooklyn late at night. There is a full moon just behind the building, lighting up the clouds. Whoever parked the truck forgot to turn off the blinker before locking up for the night. I didn't even notice the Beware of Dog sign until I opened it up in Camera Raw. Here's what I did... Camera: Canon 30D -lens: EFS 17-85(image stabilizer on) I don't remember my settings, but it was hand held, no flash. Existing light- moon, right blinker, street light. Processed in Camera raw- adjusted exposure slightly. Photoshop CS2- adjusted a curve layer to tweak contrast a bit. I didn't do anything else to it. This is my first digital camera and I couldn't even believe this shot turned out! I didn't really want to enhance the shot any further, but am curious what any of you photo/photoshop lovers would do if it were your own.

Re: Show Your Stuff! Just got a nice new Canon 400d, thought I would have a play with some nice bright hdr since it's january and cold! Mmm... Out of interest what format are people using for images? Feel this is very small but had to keep under 100k Last edited by Fuzquia; 01-06-2007 at 05:56 AM.

Re: Show Your Stuff! Well I'm afraid my current budget limits me to a basic Fuji Finepix S3000. I know it's nowhere near the camera quality required for even semi-Pro stuff, but I work around it's limitations. I have made my own macro that fits on to the S3000's filter ring, using old camera lenses I have kicking about the house. All done with trial and error testing, to see what combination of lenses gave best results. This is one I spent quite some time getting, but I got there in the end

Re: Show Your Stuff! Well thank you Again taken with my S3000 with DIY Marco lens, and it has been very popular on the net. It's currently in use on a few website templates, and has been published in business brochures for a number of companies. Photoshop helps my photography quite a lot, but thats all part of the fun to me It would be nice to get my hands on a high end camera, but putting money back in to my business comes before my hobby

Re: Show Your Stuff! I hate it when they put fences in front of me! If you put the camera as close as possible to the fence, it is possible sometimes to either get in between the wires, or make them so blurry that they don't show up as much. Bridges are interesting pieces of architecture, aren't they! New cameras are always fun,
