| | | Photograph Today (March 7, 2007) Today is March 7, 2007. Take a photo, retouch it (or not), and post it here in this thread. It doesn't have to be posted today, just shot today. You can attach more than one image, as long as they were all shot (by you) March 7, 2007.
Let's see what March 7, 2007, looks like. |

[edit]
while I'm at it, here is a picture of Johnson Bible College's President, David Eubanks. The previously mentioned desk was given to him as a retirement present from the board of trustees. He became president in 1969 and is retiring June 2007. Including his teaching tenure, he has been at the College for 51 years.

| | | Re: Photograph Today (March 7, 2007) I'll bite too. My story isn't anywhere near as touching as Mr. Chamberlain's. It does, however, have some history.
Anyone old enough to remember Al Capp's cartoon feature Lil' Abner? Mr. Capp was born and raised near where I live. There was a theme park named Dogpatch complete with Daisy Mae and Lil' Abner until a few years ago. It it now being renovated; and I received permission from the owners to photograph some of the old buildings today.
This is one of the old mill.

This is a typical almost-Spring day near Seattle, WA, which often means "overcast & rainy." I was in the car waiting to pick up my kids from school. |

| | | Re: Photograph Today (March 7, 2007) MBChamberlain - I love the key and lock image! Subject is free of extraneous elements, form/shape is interesting with a bit of history thrown in for good measure.
Janet -- I remember many a Sunday morning lying on the floor reading Lil' Abner and thinking it would be fun to live near Dogpatch. How neat that you really do! Lovely image. Love those overhanging branches.
Skydog -- how perfect a subject for early March - baseball! Your capture of the ball release impresses me.
Danny -- what a neat mood shot! Love images with unusual perspectives.
Catia -- welcome back! Being an Arizonan, I always love to look at roadrunners! |

| | | Re: Photograph Today (March 7, 2007) Looks very picturesque, Pete -- love the lamp post and the snow.
The only photos I took on March 7th were of my dogs -- I had just gotten test results for Tater that led to my decision to put him to sleep the next day. He was very sick, and didn't look good for photos, but my other dog, Squirt, was licking his ear to make him feel better (or give him an ear infection), and it was my last chance to memorialize that sweet behavior. Tater is the blonde dog on the image left, and is now at the Rainbow Bridge. The lighting wasn't good, and I didn't want to bother him with the flash, so I just made it a black/white and used a lot of noise reduction. I've also added a photo of Tater when he was in better condition (Christmas photo 2003) |
