Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

Took this one a while back and reworked it again today, it's a deserted beach in the Algarve, well it was until i made a few people vanish lol!
I was thinking what images i have that i could enhance with a "splash of colour" and this one stood out, regards,
Gary

Great use of the splash of color!
I have been playing around with Dynamic Photo HDR. This is just a random selection.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

I've been experimenting with things I've seen at Flickr.

I think wrapping texture on faces (and other things) can give some really interesting results.

And I'm trying to wrap my head around frames. There are so many possibilities with PS that it's mind boggling.

And I have no idea what style the gold argyle picture is. New art?

I really like the look of the image. It would be even better if you did the same effect with each set of beach chairs. It would create your psuedo-triangle in composition with a leading line type of effect through repetition. In other words, it would be even more eye catching.

This one was shot yesterday, but produced today. It's an old warehouse in Lappeenranta Finland, which was originally built around 1900 to be a morque.

Just finished this one, a rework of an ordinary snap taken at the Church square in Furngirola, turned it into a "Henry Morre'ish" statue and i think the transition went rather well...

Easter is coming and those little surprises from easter eggs are filling my apartment. I decided to make little Obelix jump into the glass of magic potion (no it is not alcohol) Slight tweak in the PS.

Where is Asterix?

:-)

For those of you that don't understand the reference, you are missing one of the most brilliant comic book series ever.

Taken on the promanade at the western end of Fuengirola the weekend before last and today ran it thru lightroom, i'm still going thru an "angle phase" i guess, the sunlight was a bit harsh and the lens was 70/300mm VR

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

This is another one of Justin, taken Friday.

The other was taken last night. In the spirit of this thread, the shot was a triple exposure (a quintuple exposure, actually). I used three spots and a soft box. I shot at 30mm in bulb mode for 67 seconds at F/11. I first exposed the background with two spots for three seconds to allow the upright image to be psuedo-see through. Next I shot the upright figure with a single strobe flash and a snooted spot set at half power with a black scrim to create a shadow on the lower-most part of the exposure (to prevent overlapping with the foreground figure). Then I exposed the bowing figure with a triple strobe flash at full power through a soft box so it would solidify and wash out any background images that might otherwise be seen through it.
The spot and softbox used on the model were set high and to camera left, not quite 90 degrees from the image plane, to create a Rembrandt lighting effect.

Comments are always appreciated.

Very nice effects indeed Afrazier, i like both of them and the previous shot of justin.
This is another of the "girl on the promenade" set, this it needed some cloning as you can see from the original where there is an unwanted head and a bit of shoulder interfering with the angle i wanted... may be it was better with the girl running from left to right, who knows lol!
regards,
Gary

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

Thanks Gary. Much appreciated.

With your shot here, can you tell me what your purpose for the skewed perspective is? Obviously it is deliberate. You said that you were trying to achieve that perspective. But was there a specific purpose for it?

Alledgedly to give it a sense of depth because i was high up, although my aperture should have been 4-5, i think it was 8 or higher, the angle is better on the girl below and another i thought originally triangle then box lol...
Next week i'll have calmed down and back to "square on",
regards,
Gary
