Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) veralisa-the feather capture is just too cool. I love that you ran and got your camera. :-) dkcoats-I like your post processing. The guy in the orange shirt really draws you eye. I'm not too crazy about pictures of peoples backs. Frank those are some marvelous textures. I especially like the geometric shapes & you have a fabulous signature Oskari-those are stunning! Can you tell me what you did to keep the sky blue in the third picture you call 'Countryside'? I've been playing around some of DS's Pokemon's. It's a very interesting learning process.

An appeal to all photographers Lately I've noticed more and more posts with links to photos instead of the actual photos. Since links come and go and pictures get moved and/or deleted, many of the links in this thread no longer work, which is a shame since some of them, pointed to rather remarkable photos. I appeal to all posters to please make an effort to post the images in retouchpro.com instead of creating links to where the images are located. Thanks.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) frank-I think that door is gorgeously grungy. Here are three from yesterday morning. The light was AMAZING! I think I have the whole f-stop thing backwards. Must experiment more. These are with the Canon D40 and the 100mm I think the f-stop was 3.5 on all of them. Maybe a higher number would give me prettier blur in the background?

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) Nasturtium, I liked the dried seed heads...very 'earthy" and particularly the first one. The composition keeps the eye moving. Frank, isn't it a revelation to our non-art friends that we are able to see things which would otherwise be ignored? I love the big barn door. Imagine the life it's seen passing through.

| Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) Nasturtium, the other part of getting nicely blurred backgrounds besides a large aperture is the distance between the subject and the background - if you look at your third image of the seed heads, the background is blurred more than the first two (you thought you used the same wide aperture of 3.5 on all of them). The background is farther behind the subject and that allows for more blurring effect. It's the same for your Pokemon's - the first yellow one is farther away from its background and stands out with a blurred background. My favorite dog photographer (actually dog/family photographer), Erin Vey uses depth of field as a wonderful tool for many of her images.
