Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

Well I was shooting with a tripod in HDR mode (3 exposures). I used a tripod and used a Nikon 300 mm lens on my Nikon D-70. I had the tripod on a quiet street and was about 30 yards away from the critter. He seemed to be happy and didn't move which was nice. My car was behind me and the car door was open; just in case. These guys can move fast when they deem it necessary. Ha.

300mm as f-11 and 1/90th of a second

I know it's their job but the mods can be so touchy... knowing your work though the probability is high that it was a great shot.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today)

Gary,
Beautiful images. Your composition is beautiful as well your tonal range. I don't know if it's my monitor or not but the "Squally Weather" image is kind of hot in the lower 1/3. Again, great stuff. I opened all three of them in Photoshop and use the eyedropper to select my D-Max (true black). They sing like a bird after that. Just know that I suggested it that it could very well be the difference between our monitors.

A couple more recent of mine.

Hi Sweetlight, would love to know how they turned out with the singing Dmax thing, is that curves black point, it could be the monitor difference although i calibrate it regularly, it is 7 years old...
The plant images were taken at 3,200 ISO, for the life of me i don't know why i had those in camera settings as there was plenty of light at that stage lol
I like your detail in the Smithsonian fence image and Gee, thats a powerful image, i like the smoke, what lens did you use?
I thought today i'd kick off with three of Marmalade cat,
regards,
Gary...
