Those images really are nice. The lighting reminds me of what you might get for that moment after a thunder storm, or at dusk when the light seems extra pure, and the hues are abnormally sharp.

I've read about this persons work here and other places and one thing never seems to come up. So I'll give you the one of the biggest "secret" behind the photos. Turn around when the sun is going down or one could say capture what the sun is lighting up rather than the sun itself. Most people tend to shoot nice landscapes when the sun is in this position and as it goes down or comes up, whatever the case may be. That's it folks. No magical Photoshop plug in. Most of what else you see is just simple dodge and burn and other minor corrections. Mystery solved. Of course we can't forget all of the other photographic skills that are involved but I'll just leave it at that for now.

The photographs are more like theatrical settings and from reading posts on the workflow and analysing the images myself it seems as though he approaches pp in that manner. The background, subject and foregrounds are treated differently. The lighting in the backgrounds are soft and low contrast whereas the subject is generally much stronger with occasional blown out highlights. It also seems as though he ties them all together using gradients and multiply mode with some d&b. I am of course guessing and may be totally wrong. Either way he has amazing ability to use natural light, create amazing compositions and capture his subjects in beautiful momments in addition to clever pp.

Undoubtedly there is a lot of post work done on these images, BUT, lighting is still lighting, and art is still art, no matter what when and where the steps were taken.
