I don't know if this has been done before but...I thought it might be interesting to post some of our favorite photos by other photographers.

This is one of mine by David Duncan Douglas, from his book Yankee Nomad, which I used to own in the early 70's. Sadly the book was lost during one of many moves over the years. http://www.hrc.utexas.edu/exhibition...islam/475.html

"At Aramco's trade school Sudanese, Somalis, Arabs, Eritreans and men from as far as Afghanistan, learn of a new life with other men who will never speak their tongues, but whose knowledge of their crafts is so profound that almost no barrier prevents total communication. Master ironmonger Harry Johnson is no exception, his Arabic being limited mostly to his hands--yet his students work as professionals in nearby oil fields, usually in record-breaking time. [Saudi Arabia, 1948.]" Yankee Nomad, p. 262.

Hi, members! Friendly reminder about the FAQs, and copyright rules. Please do not upload any photos for which you do not own the copyright. You may link to a favorite photographer's site, but do not upload a copy of their work.
