I can't post em cos I deleted em. But I got some really good shots of some tree tops and clouds.
When I took them there was a WW2 fighter plane flying over my house, boy it could move fast.

Re: Ooops i missed

Thanks for the hearty chuckle Palms. And I'm not laughing at you, I promise. Missed shots make you want to sit down and do some serious blubbering.

Missed shots are usually one-of-a-kind shots where you get so excited that holding steady or thinking clearly up and disappears. They happen to me when my camera is on the wrong setting (because I'm set up for something else) or I have the wrong lens on when the "surprise" happens. I experience them all the time as evidenced by the heron I goofed that is posted below.

Re: Ooops i missed

Erin it was a awesome owl

Janet and Swarbees made my day seeing that i am not the only one
I think that there is a thought that a real good photorapher dosent take bad shots ever

mind you i do claim to be better at missing than you two the first image is of a hawk/kestrel "somewhere" i think missing in action
but i did get him for the second shot even if he is little but i was quite happy that i got a wild bird in flight i just didnt have enough zoom

usually Peter i do a two part delete, in camera when i know for definate it is rubbish like blurred etc, then the next is when i have put them onto the pc, and then i might save some in case i need it as a stock like i just might need a bit of fence
and i will keep the one of the owl just for the eyes and as it is the only one i got of her in flight (almost)

Re: Ooops i missed

I presume the owl picture was taken at some sort of bird sanctuary or falconry centre, as the Eagle Owl is not a native British species.

I'll have to have a dig through some of my old shots (on film) to see if I've got any similar gaffs. I know I've taken lots (I'm a lousy photographer), but I'm like Peter and since I've gone digital I usually delete them.

That is correct Gary although interestingly this eagle owl was found in London and no owners where ever found ! !

Re: Ooops i missed

It probably got released when the "owners" realised it had grown a good deal bigger than they supposed it would. It's not the first time that such things have happened.

A bird as big as an Eagle Owl takes a lot of looking after.
