Great interview here that Bert Monroy gave with Stephen Johnson, he gives his principle- "the photograph can never be made in Photoshop" - what do you think?

Bert has always been one of my all time Heroes in the way he utilized Illustrator and Photoshop to create his artwork. If anyone could come close to creating a "Photograph"
in Photoshop it would be him.

I think if you look at what you do as digital Illustration or painting then it excuses a lot. I admire the principles that Johnson has, and think the images speak for themselves.

Bert really seems to be from what used to be called the Photorealist tradition. To me thats all very much about valuing the craft over the effect. Its good to see both of them together because they seem to come from opposite different worlds, you don't see Bert arguing much though!
