Afternoon on the promenade...

I went down to the coast over the weekend and while having coffee took a few candid shots from the cafe bar.
People liked the shots and asked them to be emailed to them so i was quite chuffed, also asked if i could show them online, regards
Gary

Nice captures, my fav is the guy smiling. The expression and joy was completely captured.

Great cropping,

So how do you take pictures of these people without getting into trouble. I am always scared to take random images, as I don't want anyone to get ticked off with me.

Never be afraid to ask, with a camera like mine i might as well be carrying a bazooka so being discreet is out of the question, many people actually like their pic taken and 9 times out of ten they want me to email them the results once they see it on the LCD. Good social skills, making people feel at ease, looking professional and having the right equipment helps, it's like winning the lottery, it'll never happen unless you buy a ticket...

Re: Afternoon on the promenade...

So you ask them before you take the pic, not after. I am in the same boat. Bazooka for a camera :-)

So I guess just have lots of business cards with me to hand out so peope can contact me for the images.

Thats the way to go,
forgot to mention always carry your business card, it does help not to leave them at home like i sometimes do, it's either business cards, CF cards, or spare battery, i can never remember everything lol

Gary
