Voting Period:

• April 27, 20009 to April 30, 6:00pm EST

Discussion Period:

• April 1, 20009 to April 30, 6:00pm EST

Voting Tabulation:

• Vote for the 3 entries you like the best by considering how well a photo captured your attention, how well it dealt with the subject, how well it fits with the chosen theme and how well the technical details were handled.

• Votes are weighted to give greater weight to First Place votes than to Second and greater weight to Second than to Third place votes. When you place a vote for First Place, that entry will receive four (4) points; when you place a vote for Second, that entry will receive two (2) points, and a vote for Third Place will receive one (1) point:
  • Entry X (their name) - First Place
  • Entry A (their name) - Second Place
  • Entry C (their name) - Third Place

• In case of a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "first place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "second place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "third place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person that first posted his/her entry

• The winner will be notified and will choose a subject for the following month.

My votes are as follows:

Frank Lopes for his Ansel Adams-like treatment of a superb black and white image and for the story it told as well.

Swarbees, simply because I've been to Monument Valley several times and love what she did with the subject.

Third is truly a tie. I couldn't decide and wasn't happy flipping a coin. Sweetlight and Danny, you both have excellent images. If a tie breaker is needed, someone else will have to flip that coin. I'm wimping out on this one.

1. Sweetlight -- sunfishing This is a wonderful treatment of the subject for this month. Backlighting the figure is important to create the silhouette but this photo also has nice colors and a story

1. Danny Raphael - I love the colors and the way the sky leads you into the hills
2. Swarbees - beautiful color and sharp silhouettes
3. Sweetlight - lovely story telling along with the silhouette

honorable mention - MariusTank - they look like they are at a campfire, RAG I love that kind of dreamy hill vista look.

1 - MariusTank: even with the slightly off horizon, it is a beautiful scene.
2 - Swarbees: the color transition in the sky make it a memorable picture.
3 - Sweetlight: lovely even with the overly centered subject.
