Dave Brubeck & Ansel Adams
Part of a festival to celebrate 50 years of his release of "Take Five" (probably the most famous jazz piece ever), he and his son have composed a 22 minute piece entitled "Ansel Adams: America".
The composition is performed for the first time in Stockton California and it was inspired by Ansel Adams' most famous photographs: Half Dome in Yosemite, Merced River, Great Falls coming down, Quiet Meadows etc.
The multi-media show takes place April 3 and it will be performed at the University of the Pacific's Faye Spanos Concert Hall.
If you love jazz and live close by, don't miss it.
More about it here.
Re: Dave Brubeck & Ansel Adams
Dang, a couple of my favorites! Makes me want to go home to Modesto where I grew up (it's just a few miles down 99 highway from Stockton)... Have spent many hours listening and learning from both of them!
Thanks for the heads up!
