| Withe balance with Canon 5D Mark II I recently bought an EOS 5D mark II and I tried to set up a custom White Balance. I gave to the model a white sheet to hold, I did the shooting than I tried to use those two frames to set up the point of White, but the camera answered me that this image was not available...can you say me why? See attachments. Thanks in advance. Paolo. Last edited by jarulex; 06-23-2009 at 05:15 AM. |

| Re: Withe balance with Canon 5D Mark II Hi Jarulex, first off i think it's better to use an 18 percent neutral grey card, not white for studio work. Sometimes my camera will not let me obtain a white balance preset, happened yesterday because there was not enough light, although this should not happen in a studio environment. On the Nikon there are two measurements, "direct" and copy from existing photograph... direct is better, but it will not give you an image on the memory card, it is stored in the presets part of the menu and as long as preset is selected in the white balance menu then it will register correctly. I guess the menu will be a little different in the Canon. Also you can try with the model holding a grey card for your first image and in your raw file select the card held by the model for correct white balance... hope this helps, Gary |
