Re: July 2009 Photo Competition: Entries Ok, I'll be the first to get this ball rolling. Most of the old time RTP members have seen this gentleman's face here before. I try to keep up with him and his aging process. This picture was taken in March of 2009. Janet

Re: July 2009 Photo Competition: Entries This is not brand new but on topic none the less. This is a subject close to me from a series you can find on my Flickr storage called "Living Inside Themselves". As many of you know from my profile, I have had a pretty diverse background. This is a living facility for mentally disturbed people basically in the very center of Daytona. I grew up watching the people wander around this place day and night as I would drive by. In the beginning as an artist I took on certain impressions. Later as a cop I had to enter here on many occasions. What one sees, smells and feels inside is chlling to the bone. People talking to the walls from inches away, sitting in corners mumbling and watching t.v. with nothing but static on it. It's a dark and lonely place. The maturity and depth of feeling from those experiences was deep and I started to consider if maybe the so called "sane" ones were really the insane. Maybe they are looking back at the word thinking they are truly the sane ones. Later again as an artist reborn I was dealing with my own demons. Deep personal tragedy and depression. At that time I began to make images from afar of these people living inside their own heads. Ones head and heart can be huge lonely places to live. Truly, are we all just one step away? The lighting is not fabricated at all. Chris Here is a song to go with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25URKL26I04

Re: July 2009 Photo Competition: Entries Charlie was born on this street and at 35, still lives there. Now however, it's actually "on the street". He is childlike and friendly, though neighbors cross the road when he is near. I lived nearby and a while ago, went back after 20 years for pics of the old neighborhood. And there he was, where is always was... Canon A700 (6MP) likely on auto.

Re: July 2009 Photo Competition: Entries Was a part of a series that externalized faces from behavior. Link to large http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3318/...b828e9ec_b.jpg Shot with a sony a700 I honestly don't remember the actual exif data, probably something like f/5.6 28mm 1/125 iso200. Single beauty dish slightly higher than the model about five feet away and 60 degrees left. Rear light about ten feet away right of model. Oh and a large white fill card six seven feet from model probably 80 degrees right. Last edited by namphoto; 07-21-2009 at 06:00 PM. Reason: forgot to post technical jargon.
