Shame on the photographer indeed. But shame on the publisher for false claims. Kudos, however, for having the wherewithal to admit and rectify the problem.

Seriously, people should call no manipulation photojournalism not art.

If it's seen on network news or in a news magazine article . . . it's true. At least that is how the majority of the world population will perceive things "and" be convinced. Most people know little if anything of digital manipulation.

You know . . . come to think of it. I've dated a few women who were obviously photoshopped. Their morning appearance was quite different than the original I had met the night before.
