Gary-I really like the colors in yours. Even the thumbnail looks great.

I'm still playing with grape leaves and bees. These were shot in black and white mode. Then I thought the bee was too blah so I tinted the one with the bee.

Nasturtium-I really like your card. It has a charming retro look to it.

Gary- Nice shot.
Gotta watch out for those bees. I've got a whole computer full of them now. And quite a few birds, to boot. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be creating little computers, just more bees and birds.

FIL will love seeing his grandson on his Bday card, especially working away on his microscope!

Sync speeds are simply the fastest the camera can shoot without the shutter closing during the exposure - which would cause part of your image to be lost. You can find the sync speed in your manual, but a safe bet is to keep it at 1/250 or slower. If you have an automatic (TTL) speedlite made for your camera brand, it probably is doing all the calculations necessary without you having to do anything except set the shutter speed. You can let in more background light by using a slower shutter speed so that the background isn't all black like in some flash photos. Here's one pro's explanation about using manual flash or TTL flash to let in more background (ambient) light.

Wouldn't it be a nice job -- to breed/raise little computers!

Glad you have lots of birds and bees inside your computer - means you have had a good time outdoors chasing them around. You're better at catching them than I - bees move faster than I do !

Bunny (the cat) on the bookcase - a slideshow

a seemingly never ending slideshow - touch your mouse up near the right hand side of the window to allow the Options menu to appear - click on the Fast button.

Cute cat and slideshow CJ.. Pets certainly are entertaining!

LOL... The first thing that popped into my mind was you call the cat "Bunny" because it collects all the Dust Bunnies for you! but as the slide show progressed I noticed how white Bunny stayed.... No dust at all on that fur!! A testament to your housekeeping CJ!! If Bunny played on top of our shelves it would look as if covered in soot, hair and cobwebs....

Hmmmmm, I better get out the dust rag and Pledge

LOL - double !! You better believe that I "healed" some of the dust that showed up in the photos, and wince when I see the rest of them. Yes, Bunny stays white, but the dust was certainly there. (I prefer photography to housekeeping). Bunny got his name from my late brother - who named him for the gray marking on his head - which I turned around so we could see that it looks like the head of a bunny with long ears. Of course, Bunny being white, soft, and sweet - also makes his a good Bunny.

I thought I would try a HDR and maybe a bee would find the flowers during the different exposures... 12 shots @ 1 increements... but the only thing that showed was a slight breeze which was just enough to mess up the shot a tad.. but I'm gonna post it anyway
