Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

Gary that's a wonderful capture of Neil. Love the rubberband on the flash - that really makes the image fun.

I just finished retouching DH's skiing pictures. Here's one I really liked. There's a manipulated version here. Winter scene 1680x1050 wallpaper.

I shot pictures of DS's class ice skating last week. It was at 8:30 (!!!) in the morning and the light was terrible. Now I'm reading all about how to deal with noise. I was playing around with shutter speed and have a handful of completely black frames. I'd throw them away but I need the learning experience to see how far I can bring them back.

Your post was a bit ambiguous, but thanks!

It snowed during the night turning the neighborhood into a winter wonderland. So I ditched all planned activities and went out and took pictures. Now I really need to go and get things done.

OLBaldy - all those pretty red candles in the fireplace are so inviting!

Adam Bartas - That is one cool composite! The custom at RetouchPRO is to "save for the web" max size 100k so that you can attach a picture, links to original sizes are fine but an attached thumbnail is always preferred.

DH and I took 800+ photos over Christmas. We had one good morning of light. I took the first picture of his 90 yr old Dad with my new 50 mm lens.

The second is a year old capture but post processed this morning with just about everything I've learned here at RetouchPRO.

Happy Twenty-ten retouchers, welcome to the future!

We have snow, now i know some of you will not be impressed but apparently it is our heaviest fall for about 15 years. and we havent been hit as bad as some of the rest of the country !

the second one is of some frost on the back windscreen of the car, got to try and get a better shot tomorrow or in the next few days but i thought it too pretty to leave out

Palms: Well it looks like a very nice snow fall to me. Its a good thing we have a lot of global warming or else you really would have got hammered.

Well Palms, I got inspired with your snow photo and went out down the block so to speak and took a photo too. Seabrook Island near Charleston is having a good day.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

nasturtium,

you have some really nice pics in here (as do you all ), so i thought i'd do a little post processing on the snow pic. this was a crop, a brightness/contrast adjustment layer, an unsharp mask (very light), a hue/sat adjustment layer to desaturate and a noise reduction. i also used paint shop pro's 'smart photo fix' for some minor adjustments.

i'm also curious what camera you're using?

also, i'm inviting all of you (and your marvelous pictures) to post some of these in the photo art forum for folks to have a play with. i, for one, would love it and i know others would as well

palms1 - love the geometrics shapes!

phil - the square crop really works with the diagonal lines

Craig,

Thanks for the nudge. I've started a thread. I like your interpretation very 'icy.'

My point and shoot is a Panasonic Lumix FX35 which is awesome for a pocket camera. DH has a Canon 40D which mystifies me but that doesn't keep me from attempting to use it.

Palms - your snowfall and ice LOOK lovely - as seen from a warm room. We're having a sunny, warmer than usual (so far) January in Arizona, but I'm still cold unless the sun is shining and the temp is 60 plus.

Went on a group photo shoot last weekend - sunshine and decent temps... guess the horse thought a nap in the sun felt good even though it was still morning.

Philbach, your image looks very inviting.
