Love your description and your capture of the situation.

Don't like the situation, and hope the flooding has receded without too much damage. We're having the largest wildfires ever in AZ now, and they worry about flooding and runoff damage once the monsoon rains come to those once forested areas. I haven't gone anywhere near the areas to make photos, but the Forest Service has photographers who have captured some fantastic images.

A rare opportunity, gratefully received and taken advantage of, just wished the neighbours had trimmed there bushes just a tad more

Mind you i did wonder why I had the time to run around to my house, get camera, run back and the squirrel was still sitting there nice and still , mind you only till i spotted a certain tabby cat sat at the bottom of the fence waiting for his new friend to come down ! ! ! !

is it wrong to say C.J. they are some awesome photographs ?

Great shots, Palms - good fur definition, and having some leaves around him just sets his environment - not a distraction. Where are the photos of "a certain [unnamed] tabby cat" - didn't you want us to see his expression as he licked his "chops"!

Not at all, in my opinion - one photographer mentioned that he felt torn between his desire to photograph the sight and his feelings of worry for the people/environment in danger. Such a fire IS a spectacular sight even tho it is also a terrible sight for the homeowners, the people who have visited and those who in the future will visit the area, all the wildlife that had to escape (or try to, many have been seen to be fine and feeding in areas around the land where the fire has stopped raging). It is a terrible sight that is also beautiful if we don't think about the results - and even some of the results are good for the forest in the future, but it's scary/powerful/beautiful/fearsome and so many other words - all worth photographing. If I'd been closer to the area, and had a car that worked better, I'd have driven to take photos myself...

Gary - your bug pictures are wonderful (and not a little intimidating)

Palms - terrific squirrel 'captures'. We have a little wild bunny that is eating all our expensive plants but I haven't succeeding in 'shooting' him, her, it...

tried my hand at street photography yesterday. I am far too shy to do this and should probably stick to flowers

The wonders of a two year olds mind as she looks at the ocean for the first time. The sign next to her explains it all.
