December 2009 Photo Competition: Discussion After listening to everyone's coments last month, I increased the voting period to 3 days: from 12/28 to 12/31. Keep the comments coming. I may not acknowledge them when you post them, but be assured I pay attention to them. Last edited by Frank Lopes; 12-01-2009 at 03:05 PM.

Re: December 2009 Photo Competition: Discussion Palms, I was thinking of trying that but with a reflection in the drops of water. I hope to try it tonight. I really like your spider web pic.

Re: December 2009 Photo Competition: Discussion Yes, the fire is a candle. and I used a small ribbon (the kind you can curl) to suspend the water drops. I taped the ribbon to the bottom of 2 over turned glasses. then I missed water onto it. I was hoping to get the real distinct reflections in the drop. I need to do some more research and experimenting.

Re: December 2009 Photo Competition: Discussion I didn't think I'd be able to come up with anything this month with all the holiday busy-ness but I found a little tripod in FIL's closet and started playing with the camera and the tree ornaments. It was very frustrating not knowing where all the buttons were on the SLR to get the effect I wanted. PaulC9445- your entry is very trippy (I mean that as a compliment because I LOVE bright colors)

Re: December 2009 Photo Competition: Discussion Thank you all. The photo contest has really helped me. Each month I look forward to trying out the theme and love to see how each photographer approaches it. The comments are very helpful. Retouch pro forums are my "continuing education program."
