Voting Period:

• February 25, 2010 to February 28 6:00pm EST

Discussion Period:

• February 1, 2010 to February 28 6:00pm EST

Voting Tabulation:

• Vote for the 3 entries you like the best by considering how well it fits with the chosen theme and how well the technical details were handled.

• Votes are weighted to give greater weight to First Place votes than to Second and greater weight to Second than to Third place votes:
  • First Place 4 points
  • Second Place 2 points
  • Third Place 1 point

• In case of a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "first place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "second place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person with the most "third place" votes

• If there is still a tie, first place will be giving to the person that first posted his/her entry

• The winner will be notified via retouchpro.com's private messaging and will choose a subject for the following month.

One of the varieties of sparrow (known in tamil as chittu kuruvi) is fast vanishing and is in the verge of extinction. Surprisingly we found a lot of them at the streets of Vellalar Theru in Puducheri, India. I donot care if this photo wins or not but atleast it should provide some information for others to save this fast vanishing bird.

Went out into the yard with the cats and set my shutter speed down to 1/60th to show some blurring if I caught them in motion. Missed a hummingbird "right in my face" (too surprised and appreciative of its beauty to shoot), got static shots AFTER the action, and finally, Tig jumped up to the table when I was ready.
