How To: Shooting Action - Videos from AdoramaTV
Whether you are shooting sports or playful children, you can learn to capture action and either freeze it in place or show it -- Mark Wallace continues his AdoramaTV video lessons:

Episode 18: Freezing Motion with your shutter
In this episode Mark Wallace talks about using a fast shutter speed to freeze motion. This is a great technique that can be used to capture sports or even kids on the move! He also explains the need to change your camera to continuous focus mode, and image stabilization (if your lens/camera is so equipped).
